Believe相信
①believe后可以直接接名词、代词做宾语。
I don’t believe you！我不相信你说的话。
②believe that从句〔后接否定的宾语从句时，通常将否定转移到主语句上。〕
I don’t believe that he will win.我相信他不会赢。
hundreds of 许多，大量
hundred面前有具体数次修饰时，不能加-s，如：one hundred，two hundred，
three hundred。表示概数时，hundred要加-s，后加介词of，即hundred of
“许多，大量，数以白计的”。
Hundreds of birds fly in the sky。 数百只鸟儿在空中飞翔。
There are two hundred good teachers in the school，so thousands of students are students are studying here。这所学校有200名优秀教师，因此成千上万的学生在此学习
拓展：
类似的搭配还有thousands of “数以千计的，成千上万的”，millions of“数以百万计的”。

2.But scientist james White thinks that it will be difficult for a robot to do the same things as a person。但是科学家詹姆斯·怀特认为对机器人来说，像人一样做同样的事情是困难的。 句型：It is +adj.〔for sb.〕to do sth.“〔对某人来说〕做某事是…的”
It is +adj.+〔for ab.〕 to do sth.意为“〔对某人来说〕做某事是…的”。其中it是形式主语，to do sth.是真正的主语。如果要说明不定式表示的动作是谁做的，可以在不定式前面加一个由for引导的短语。
· It’s not good for old people to live alone.
对老人们来说独居是不好的。
·It’s really hard for me to work out the maths peoblem.
对我来说算出这道数学题确实很难。
扩展
It is+ adj.+ of sb. to do sth. 意为“做某事对于某人来说真是太…”。of 后应跟表示人性情或的形容词，如good, nice, kind, careful, clever等。
·It’s very nice of you to help me.你来帮助我，你真是太好了。
3.Mr. white that robots won’t be able to do this, but some scientists disagree.怀特先生认为机器人不会这样做，但是一些科学家不同意这种看法。
Be able to do sth. 意为“有能力做某事；会做某事”。
·He is able to swim . 他会游泳。
·We will be able to drive planes in ten years.
十年后我们就会开飞机了。
辨析 be able to 和 can二者都可以表示“能；会”。在表示现在和过去“力所能及”时，二者可以互换。
·I can/am able to speak a little English.
我现在会说一点英语。
·He was able to/could run fast when he was eight years old.
他八岁时就能跑得很快了。
